Kokomo Beach

On Sundays, the place to be is Kokomo. This family-owned beach club sits on Vaersenbaai, a short drive from the lodge, and has been a favourite with locals and visitors since 2011.

By day it is a relaxed spot for a swim, with calm water, a jetty and a green headland wrapped around the bay. But Sunday is when it really comes alive. Happy hour brings cold drinks, live music, friendly faces and that wonderful end-of-the-weekend feeling that only Sunday evenings in the tropics seem to have.

Arrive early to get a spot with a view, order some snacks and a bucket of beer, and let the evening take care of itself. It is a great place to meet people, from islanders to fellow travellers, and a lovely way to round off a week on Curaçao.

If you’re feeling active, there is a trail of about 2 km that links Boka Sami and Vaersenbaai along the coast, so you can walk over in the late afternoon. Just remember to arrange a lift or a taxi for the way back after dark.

Check the Kokomo website or social pages for the latest happy hour times and music line-up before you go.
